How do I create websites?

HTML Editors

The easiest way to create web pages is to use an HTML editor. Some of the basic editors are free, such as Front Page Express.

Front Page Express
Download - This easy program is probably already on your computer, if you're using Windows. If not, you can download it for free.
Tutorial
- This is a handy tutorial that can help anyone get started.

Notepad
Any simple text editor, such as Notepad, can be used to create webpages. Just type your HTML, and Save As .htm instead of .txt. You can then preview your pages in your browser by going to File > Open, and opening your file.

Editpad
Editpad is similar to Notepad, but more geared towards HTML, and very useful. You can download the trial version for free.

Netscape Composer
Another simple HTML editor, Netscape Composer is an easy to use program that comes with Netscape. Download Version 6.0 to get the newest version of Composer. To open it, first open Netscape, then go to Tasks > Composer.

Where can I find help with HTML?

There are hundreds of HTML tutorial websites on the internet. We recommend visiting Yahoo's HTML Guides and Tutorials category to get started.

What's great about programs like Front Page Express and Netscape Composer is that they create HTML for you! All you do is type in what your want your webpage to say, just like any other word processing program, and the HTML code is generated in the background automatically.
